Deaf Alerter

Deaf Alerter Deaf Alerter

From: Deaf Alerter PLC

Deaf Alerter is primarily used for fire alarm and public address messaging. It can also be used for bomb evacuation warning, personal on-site paging (text messages), equipment alarm warning and security staff messaging.
The Alerter is a small radio receiver that is carried by the Deaf or hard of hearing user, which vibrates when it receives a message from a Deaf Alerter transmitter. It has a display on the top where the user views the information sent to them. The unit is light, robust and easy to use.

When the Alerter receives an emergency evacuation alert (for example a building fire alarm) the unit vibrates and displays the message. The Alerter will continue to vibrate until the person is out of the service area of the transmitter i.e. outside the building. During an emergency situation the Alerter also emits a piercing audible tone. Although this may not be heard by a hard of hearing wearer, should they become trapped, for example in a smoke-filled room, the tone will assist emergency rescue personnel to find them.

When the Alerter receives ordinary work-related or public address messages, these are received just once and the Alerter vibrates, the message is then held in memory. The user can replay any of the last six messages they have received by pressing a button on the alerter. Non-emergency messages can have the audible tone muted.

Handipark

Handipark Handipark

Price: £980 ( £931 with TRAC users discount)
From: K-Five Sales Ltd

Handipark is installed directly onto the road surface to reserve a 'blue bay' for use by a disabled motorist. To access the space the
driver simply presses the button on a hand-held remote control, which automatically lowers the barrier. Handipark will then remain down until the car has left the space, when the barrier will rise back to the vertical position automatically.
With Handipark you can now effectively guarantee the availability of
your 'blue bays' irrespective of the willingness of the general public
to comply, the determination of the enforcement regime or the
effectiveness of the deterrent measures already in place.
