Budget Tailored Solutions

For every access challenge there will be a number of possible solutions.  Which one you choose will depend on a number of factors including:

Take an inaccessible entrance........... a disabled customer cannot open and close the door.  The different levels of solutions could be:

  1. install a fully automated door or semi automated door
  2. fit sensor activated door openers to existing doors
  3. provide a touch-pad operated electric opener
  4. mount a call button at entrance to alert staff to help being needed
  5. subscribe to the Service Call system
  6. train staff to monitor entrance to assist those entering

You need to provide information to a customer who uses Braille.  The possible solutions, depending on your circumstances, might be:

  1. buy your own transcription software and Braille printer
  2. use a transcription service
  3. offer material by email and/or on disc as many Braille users will have equipment to access this
  4. with time at a premium, offer to read documents to your customer
  5. enquire if an audiotape is acceptable

If you need advice on what solution you should choose, please contact us.
